Design back to nature. :)

I stumbled upon this website from a San Diego based store called Pigment.

...I'm in Love! ^-^

It's right up my alley. Friends that have been over to my place know that I love combining modern furniture with natural, eco-chic pieces. I've been obsessed with air plants recently. I got inspired from visiting my friend who works at ABC Home in NY when I was there and created a hanging branch chandelier with fishing wire to create a "floating" effect. It's a true conversation piece. It's the first thing people notice when they walk in. A little creativity goes a long way! :) I hung baubles on it, along with a glass dome with air plants in it, like the following:

If you're too lazy/busy to diy, this website has a spectrum of adorable findings that borders eco-friendly and simple modern, which is right up my alley! ^-^* And they're priced very reasonably. ;)

And they have these sweet wall plant hangers. Don't you love how it brightens up this kitschy little space and brings breathability to an otherwise industrial feeling room? I can't wait til I have a large space where I can implement these!

And how adorable is this herb set for the kitchen? What a cute gift idea. :)

They even have a small fashion section with some decent finds, like this bag. It reminds me of NY! It would be so handy and I could see myself wearing this around Brooklyn on the weekend to throw in my finds from the Brooklyn Flea. ^-^ It's 22 bucks! What a find. :) And it's 100% recycled, just so you can feel extra good about the purchase. ;)

Toodle-ooh ya'll. Have an awesome weekend!

newwww peectureeees!!! :D

I spent the past month breaking up with my boyfriend, moving to LA, roadtripping to Colorado, and doing photoshoots (amongst catching up with friends!)... weeeeeee...!!! lol. It's been hectic. Anypoo, here are some picky pics. ;D 'cause that's all we really care about, right? ^-~*

So I had the good fortune of collaborating with an amazing team on a project entitled "A Melting Pot of Thoughts," spearheaded by Mai Bui, one of the founders of 13 Minutes Magazine. It's a compilation of short stories with authors ranging from creatives to scholars. Mai wanted to give the Asian community a voice in an uplifting, light-hearted yet profound read. Keep posted! It'll be published soon!

So we were shooting the cover of the book, whose forward was written by the gorgeous Michelle Krusiec, the actress. Here are some terrible-quality photos from the shoot: (haha!)

This is a "before" photo of Michelle I found online while researching her.

This is a terrible iphone snapshot during the prep on set.
This is Michelle in a traditional Vietnamese dress. Gorgeous huh? :)

Yesterday I swooped in last minute to fill the place of a makeup artist who flaked (TERRIBLE!!!) at Studio 1444 in Hollywood, run by my good friend Alen. But it was auspicious for meeee... because I got to work with aspiring pop artist Tracy! She's a sweetheart from Florida with a delicious voice.

This is one of her last looks of the photoshoot.
Alright ya'll! Have an awesome weekend. Btw I saw Paranormal 3 last night and almost peed my pants. >:T One of those cheap scare typa movies but it WORKED!!!

Corinne Bailey Rae@ NY Fashion Week ^-^*

One of the looks for Corinne. She's lovely. She was so easy going and really cute, her personality. Tall and lithe, too with a model's body! Gorge! <3

Hello Cali.... :)

I moved back to LA this past week, so before I left NY I treated myself to a few things that reminded me of NY. One of which is.... *drumroll*.... my sick new iphone case!!!
...by EXOvault

I found out about it from one of my favorite jewelry designers in Brooklyn, Georgia Varadakis. She works with brass alot, so naturally she gravitated towards the brass iphone case, which I thought was so badass. There's nothing like it!.... so of course I had to have one. ;)

Sorry for the crappy pictures but... shrug* :T

Hurricane Irene sucks.

But my blog doesn't. Haha! I'm probably growing more delirious (and cheesy) by the moment. O.o It's entirely psychological, I admit it, but knowing that you simply don't have a choice in staying in makes ya squirmy! So I figured I'd scribble in some photo notes on my blog while I'm stuck.  ;)

I did the makeup for a particularly awesome bride the other weekend, and she had her wedding at a venue called Oheka Castle in Long Island, which was absolutely spectacular. (Google it!) Here are a couple snap shots from my little iphone. They were a very inspiring couple. Dashing, successful, and clearly in love... but mostly they were awesome because they're genuine, caring, wonderful people.

The venue was lovely, and it was very fitting for the couple it was setting the stage for. <3

Here are a couple before and afters of another bride and bridesmaid, too.

Korean Makeup Styles! :D

Hate to say it but I was never a huge fan of Korean style makeup. I guess you can say it's an "Eastern" vs. "Western" Aesthetic, but I was just never big on white face and pastel eyeshadows. I don't know if it's the plastic surgery that's getting better (hehe) but the makeup's looking better and better in my eyes. The photos were taken from http://www.allkpop.com/

I guess the following ladies are from a band called the 'Wonder Girls,' which have a ridiculous cult following in Asia.
I adore this. From her expression to the styling and hair, she looks exquisite! The makeup is fresh, minimal and sexy.

Anyone that knows me knows that I am an absolute WHORE for ashy colored hair, so needless to say I love this!! The washed out brows go with the pale face and structured smokey eye. Delicious.

Honestly, not a huge fan of this one but maybe it's because I don't like red hair, maybe it's because I don't love her face. ...what??? I'm being honest! ;p

Love her lips. <3

Lady Gaga, anyone? The lips are perfection, though, and I love the look so WHATEVER!! :)

This is just pure sex.

This is a great example of how Korea's doing it right, now. She still has the bubble gum pop look, but it's flattering. Proper use of eyeliner (not just minimal like Korea's always done) really helps to open her eye and lends to the kitten look, and the lashes just add to it. Yay! Pale as hell, though, as usual. Ohhhh Asia. You love your pale face.

Adorable. <3

long time no post :) helloooo...

Starting off with a delicious photo:
(I'm such a sucker for the bleached hair/brow look! ;)
Love the makeup... perfectly compliments the look. Strong but doesn't dominate. Playful touch with the glitter on the lips, and soft red eyeshadow, echoing the lipstick. Bare face with touches of highlights creates gorgeous luminosity and resonates with the rest of the "light look:" her hair, skin, clothing. Love!
Taken from www.look-at.com

This is also quite lovely. I love the transparency of the look, right down to the veininess(sp?) in her lids; here, it works! It's a very soft, ethereal, other worldly look and i LOVE it!!!

THEN... brace yourself.. wtH is this nonsense???? *horror*
For your sake, I've shrunken the image. What could possess someone to do this in the name of "beauty".... shudder.
Makes me wanna slap someone. I understand the concept, but at some point a MUA is responsible for taking a step back and saying "hey! this looks like shit!" ...one of the graces of makeup is that you can simply erase and start over. -_- This photo makes me angry. Makeup shouldn't make people look scarier. Unless it's Special Effects makeup. >:T

Cutest bracelets from Opening Ceremony! :F

My sweet-ass bf took me to Opening Ceremony for our One-year Annie yesterday to go shizzopping and of all things I found these, and they made me tremendously happy. Yup! It's all I needed to put a smile on my face. They're 5 bucks a pop! I got the black and green one. :D

Cheap date, huh? ;D

picture taken from Opening Ceremony.

Yup! That's it for now. I feel a makeup tutorial coming on... yippeee!!!
